This is my collection of transistor radios. These date from the mid 50's to about 1970. All of these are AM only, no FM and most still work.
It's better downloaded of course.

Yes, I do and that's quite a collection!
You have several of the ones I had and remember those days very well. Great collection and image.
What a neat idea! What ever happened to my 2-transistor,etc?
Oh,yeah, I got a 6-transistor replacement...
Strange.... Some reason I miss the crackle of the speaker! I had a few of these also. This is a truly Great collection!

Glad you mentioned the crackle same here and I had forgotten about it.

really nice collection, homemade wall showcase or store bought
Actually, I had an aquarium built into the wall and when I gave it away, there was a hole left. So I made the shelf to cover the hole and to display the radios.
Thanks for the nice comments!
Not as old, not as small, but I still have an old Zenith Trans-oceanic. AM/FM and 6 or 7 world band tunings. Very heavy, took a lot of D cell batteries. Still works and sounds good (or as good as it ever did).
Nice collection.

Wow, what a collection! We have one that is actually on a toilet paper dispenser. Can't imagine anyone staying around long enough to, well, you know.

Wonderful photo. I remember being at a lake in Kansas with my transistor radio and trying to pick up Dick Biondi on WLS Chicago.

Remember the mid watch in Norfolk, Va and picking up WWVA Wheeling, West Virginia. I believe they broadcast with 50,000 watts. Transistors were the new thing back then.
I was the first in my neighborhood to have an AM FM radio. Friends thought it was cool.
I had one. Five rows down, 7 radios to the right.
That's some collection.
Don
