I am in the South of France.

There I was checking out a 'brocante' (antique store) and found an old 14mm tokina lens, Nikon mount sold for 1 Euro. At that price, what the heck?

I checked it and the seller said it was mounted on an old post office sorting machine.

Effectively a ring was out of whack but the rest seemed ok so... I paid my Euro, went my merry way.

I tested the lens this morning... IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM!

You see, you have to be willing to risk your money to get a good deal. You took a big chance, and it paid off! :D

That is great, but it helps (as in your case) if you know what you are looking at and know how to evaluate it. I wonder how many Nikon ( or any other brand ) users would pick the lens up and know what they were looking at?

Enjoy a great find.

I'm very curious how you sent or made this raw file to make it available?

I've not tested it recently, but some time ago I did this by entering two attachments to a comment. The first one was a small JPEG image (store original not checked) and the second one was the raw file (store original checked).

However, for very large files you may experience some problems in uploading and in this case you will probably have to resort to using some off-line storage system like Dropbox.

He had no idea what he was looking at. Like he said he took it from the store because it was practically free.

That is probably why I checked it first (read the post)... Even 1 euro is too much for broken glass.
