Old House on a Hill

I live on the prairies, so this could be considered a hill.
2 shots of this old house. The Sigma lens produced an overall better picture. But, different settings, angles, etc., and the 2 pics were taken about 15 minutes apart.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

house on a mole hill?? :)

Nice shots! Not sure how close you can actually get, but some interior shots could be pretty cool.

The first shot the house is a little dark. Pretty tricky exposure with the bright spots in the clouds behind. If you shot in raw you might be able to pull up shadows a bit in post.

the second shot the house exposure is better. you might want to put a VERY light black vignette around it to highlight the house more.

I like 1 more because of the clouds as background.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, tsilva. Much appreciated. The first photo is darker than the original. I was quite surprised when I downloaded it to UHH. I agree that a slight vignette may help to focus on the house in the second photo. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Thank you for commenting photophile. It was the sky that also draws me into that first shot.

Great shots, Cotondog! I really love #1 'cause the clouds give it an eerie feeling! Like, maybe it's haunted???

Thank you for you kind comment, sailorsmom. Very much appreciated. I like the first shot for that very reason -- the sky is incredible.

Both are excellent. The wonderful cloud patterns and angle from which you shot in the first pic certainly provide a captivating sense of drama and is why it's my favorite.
