If you ever should be in Wrangel Alaska I would highly suggest to take a jet boat ride up the Stikine River ($200) As John Muir wrote about the gulch “A Yosemite 100 miles long” It is still looks the same today as it did 100 years ago the reason being is that it’s off the beaten path, as far as I know only Norwegian Cruise docks in Wrangel and the ferry of course. As you can see I had lousy weather both times but it was still super nice. Wikipedia says the river is one of the most difficult white water rivers for kayaking.

Outstanding images Mike. I know you said the weather was bad, but to me, that fog and mist just serves to give the images a sense of wonder and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at these.

Love them! The clouds and mists make it a mystical scene, rather than revealing every nook and cranny of the reality. I'd say the weather cooperated beautifully for you, lol!

Another beautiful set of a beautiful place. The Stikine River sure has some awesome beauty. We went up the river as far as 2 miles from the glacier, but too much ice in the water to go further. Got to chip ice off an iceberg there! Boat pilot was in need of some ice... Wrangell turned out to be our favorite place in Alaska. We spent 5 days there. Small as the community is, doesn't look like much to do there, but, if you explore!
Your photos inspire many to make that trip! Many, many(!) thanks for inspiring me to travel to Alaska last year. Wonderful memories of that trip, it was AWESOME. I am still editing photos a year later!

Excellent pictures; I like the mist which lends an atmosphere to them which I enjoy.
