The movie Risky Business was filmed in 1983 in Highland park's Ravinia area partially in a restaurant that my family had frequented. 4 generations of my family frequented the place.. Recently on a bike ride to the area I stopped to see the old place called Sheltons. Sadly It closed many years ago when the owner Bud My best buddy and fellow photographer enthusiast passed away... The food was awesone... He did his own butchering as did his dad and son... Many of my photographs were on the wall there as well as my fathers and Bud's. The pictures are some of my memories... Hope you enjoy...
The 5 of us. Bud on the left (owner)

Photos on the wall... Some were mine
Part of the menu way back then
As it looks today and it is for sale
That brings back memories. I ate there one time while my mom was in the Highland Park hospital. That was before the movie was made.

It was a major hangout in the day... Many a time it was standing room only in there... The "steak cheese onion" sandwich was a favorite of almost everyone...The fry's were to die for... If he couldn't get the particular Idaho potato he made them from he didn't have frys that week... I was the 4th one over in the picture... 3 of the 5 of us worked either for the fire or police dept...
