Bob Yankles post inspired me to try this technique. I used the PSE 11 Artistic/Color Pencil filter and kept the default settings that were provided. I'm sure Bob could do a better job, but wanted to try my hand at it. Hope you like it.

That came out well. Quite appealing. I love the subject and composition. If you'd be willing to post it, I'd be interested in seeing the original :)

Your cross-hatching is interesting. Next try a uni-directional pattern.
