What do the numbers beneath photos in the photo contest section mean? There was a decimal number and a number in parenthesis.
Those numbers, are the score achieved via votes.
When another person votes on an image they like it gets scored. If that same person votes on multiple photos the score of the vote get divided amongst the images voted on.
For example if I voted on 2 images each would get 0.5 of my vote.
Therefore the decimal number is the score achieved and the number in parenthesis is the number of votes it took to get that score.

You can vote as many times as you like, but only have one (1) voting point.
If you vote for multiple entries, your (1) point gets divided among them all.
Thanks for the information. My photo, Rain on windshield, had a 1.86 (5) and was #20 on the list out of 71. That seems pretty good to me. Thanks to all who voted on my photo.
