The purple passion flower is the host plant for the Gulf Fritillary Butterfly. I think the flower is cool looking but my wife didn't like it. It grows mostly along the upper gulf coast and south of there.
I planted one on a trellis attached to my cedar fence and the fence couldn't handle it. The vine can grow 10 to 15 ft and it gets heavy. Plant it and the butterflies will come.
