You have done St Ives proud with this shot Paul, I do like the lighter streak in the sea. Was down there last week....

Its a good picture of St Ives Paul, not the usual harbour shot, --I like the, Did you go to the Tate? --I remember a few years back standing outside the Tate and looking out to sea and the Light was the purest I have seen anywhere in the would, it was stunning, and exactly why there has been an artist colony there for many years.

We spent Noelene's birthday here last year and what a terrific seaside town it was too. It used to be dependent on fishing but those shoals are long gone and the place has reinvented itself as a holiday destination like many coastal UK towns/villages. The walk from this vantage to the distant headland takes you through many interesting streets with interesting shops selling interesting things. St Ives is a bit of an artist colony these days and there are plenty of opportunities for great pictures photographically and painting wise. Good eateries and pubs too so what more could you want? And there was one heck of a storm brewing on the horizon as we headed out this day. This image is a composite of four images

No, we didn't go to the Tate Geoff. Actually, I didn't know there was one there. Went to the one in London though, which was terrific. We had dinner there at a private function which was quite surreal sitting amongst all that fabulous old art. We realty liked St Ives but as usual it is difficult to spend as much time in a single place as you might like. Too many other lovely towns/villages too see I guess

Hi Paul, There are 4 Tate Galleries, The Tate in London, The Tate Modern in London, Tate Liverpool and Tate St. Ives, -- the one in St ives is quite small and sometimes the exhibitions are very extreme and not to my taste at all, but thats Art for you, and as in photography you can't please everyone,
