Sign behind the times?

Saw this sign in a photo shop window. I had to take a second look to be sure I was not mistaken. Then, I took the shot with a non-film camera. (I wonder what rolls they don't develop?)

The original sign looks vintage. The two pieces of paper taped to sign are obviously more recent.

Good observation. So, there must have been a technological breakthrough in doing faster film development.
