While there isn't much difference between the two, my guess is this is a Sharp-shinned. (From what I can see in the Sibley book.)

I think this one is a Cooper's Hawk. He was on my neighbor's roof. I have a family of them out in my back yard almost every day.

Hi Tom Great photos :thumbup:

I believe your hawks are Red-shouldered Hawks, the second being a juvenile.

I heard from Cornell's Project FeederWatch I.D. program,
according to Anne Marie, she is leaning toward a Sharp-shinned Hawk from what she sees but not totally positive.

I am enclosing more photos of the same hawk, and let others decide to what they believe the hawk to be.

I believe it to be a Sharpie because of the Yellow Supraorbital Ridge above eye.
