I love this shot, but, would appreciate a critique.

St. Alban's, Copenhagen. The only remaining Anglican Church in Denmark.

Composition is good and I like the feel of the impending rainstorm. However, I would have probably lightened the exposure up a little more to give the overall photo some zip. Other than that, from a Dallas Anglican....well done!

I agree about lightning up just a tad. It has an almost sinister look the way it is which is not bad. I would like to see it without the modern bits on the side which would almost require a vertical view if the sides were cropped.

While I agree with a tad more light, I think the composition is very very nice... I love that you kept some of the blvd in the shot!

I agree, but, I wanted the whole fountain in! Couldn't figure it out!

Just a note... I understand your love of this shot with the somber tone of the weather. I find it very compelling! I often feel like the true moment of capture is a part of the composition itself and when others would like to change it I resist. Often others just have different feelings toward the shot than I as the photographer. Having said that I believe that with a tad bit of lightening you can retain the feel and highlight the wonderful detail you've captured! I always enjoy your work my friend!

Thanks Frodo! I've heard it often enough...I'm going to try it. Will post the lightened version later today.

I like your photo phlash, very much. If it were mine, I might crop about 10% from the top clouds ..... you will still have plenty left to display the impending storm, but it might direct more interest to the church and fountain

now, THAT'S a photo, just as it stands. Sure, I supose you could play with the exposure a bit, but I wouldn't touch a thing.

Thank you Mercer, tbohon and laugh. I value your opinions and appreciate your praise! It''s always nice to get positive feedback from good, experienced photographers. That said, Frodo, wilikioti (love the handle) and BigDJim are no slouches and I've cropped and lightened a bit and here it is in it's new form. Comments welcomed. I still gravitate to the first version since it fits the feel of the day, but, I have to admit it looks good both ways. Many thanks to all.

I agree it does look good both ways ... but, like you, still gravitate to the original for the mood the light, clouds and overall coloring of the photo displays.
