Was driving from Cannon Beach, OR to my 50th high school reunion in Kennewick, WA and decided to drive along the Columbia River. Spent the entire day making the 5 or 6 hour trip and stopped numerous times to sightsee and take pictures.
Horsetail Falls is located on the Oregon side of the river along the old Columbia River Gorge highway ... the road I took with my new bride in 1967. It is 214 feet with a single drop (section).
This is one of my favorites from that trip. I especially like it because the people in the left give a good perspective on the height of the falls.
Light post-processed to remove some annoying haze and to brighten up the colors just a tad ... nothing heavy, done with a gentle touch.
Thanks for looking and, as always, C&C welcomed.

Nice work. I enjoyed the download. Good use of people for scale. It is a beautiful place, i need to revisit. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful photo. WA and OR are gorgeous beyond words. I have driven the length of their coast several times along with extensive road travel inland.
Have been by horseshoe many times. It's wonderful and so is your photo.
Thanks guys ... appreciate the kind words. I'm planning another trip along the Gorge again soon - mid-September more than likely if I don't decide to drive to Glacier National Park.
Love the Gorge area. Nice shot. My mother-in-law lives in outskirts of Gresham now but grew up on the Old Oregon Trail in small town called Springdale. All the falls along the Gorge are beautiful.

Thanks for looking zuzanne!

I normally feel that people mess up a nice shot like this, and even though they do provide a perspective.... I actually like what looks like a family with the dog adding interest to the shot! Well done!

Thanks Frodo! It was serendipity, not planned ... I had walked across the road to the parking area to get a shot of the entire falls and when I turned around here was this family and their dog standing just right ... took a couple of really fast shots before they moved :)
Appreciate you stopping by and your comment!

Nice photo. Just wondering, did the Kennewick man show up at the reunion?
