I was a little lucky this morning. Both with a D800e and a 70-200mm F4
I didn't think the little green heron would work out at all. Branches in the way, backlit. Kind of surprised.
It's Bambi! (First picture - after his mother dies Bambi is with his dad. This little one is clearly luckier.)

His mama is off to the left.
#1 is gorgeous! What kind of deer are they?
They are axis deer, originally imported from India for game ranches, but have pretty much naturalized throughout the Texas Hill Country.
Like all three but the first one is outstanding,,',regards ringo
Hi, wow, great photos of a proud looking deer.We have whitetail deer here in Delaware but nothing like that. The heron is a nice photo also.I guess they are correct when they say everything in Texas is BIG!
Great shots, but what kind of deer is the buck in the first picture? I've never seen one like that in this country.
Beautiful captures. I was down in your neck of the woods a while back shooting the interior of the Painted Churches at Schulenburg.
Great shots of the Axis.... Love it!
Great set of images. That first photo is especially amazing.
