I've replaced most of the bulbs in my house with LED's, and I'm pleased with the results. They are brighter than the fluorescents they replaced, and they'll probably outlast me. Amazon had a pack of six for $31, so I got two. Two days later, the price had risen to $43. Good timing on my part.

These bulbs use only 9.9W, compared with 23W for the CFL's. Have any of you gone 100% LED?

Have done the same, but they are more adept to voltage surges and storms.

If you have a Batteries Plus Bulbs nearby, check out their selection. Some areas have good rebates that make the price even better, although $31.00 for a 6 pack is hard to beat. B+B has a full line of bulbs & the best guarantee in the business. If 1 fails during the warranty, take it back to them, they'll replace it. Most other places you have to keep the box & receipt and mail it back to the manufacturer for replacement. Disclaimer: Yes, I work for B+B here in Columbus, OH.

No B+B here. That $31 price must have been a short term deal because everyone is selling those bulbs for around $44 now.

I'm in the process of converting. The problem with the CFL's was they take a while to come up to full brightness and if you did not let them fully warm up, their life was cut short.

I'm slowly working towards that end. I do have a few dimming switches and the LED bulbs don't seem to like that, even if they aren't dimmed. I know they make dimmable bulbs but they are not all created equal. I've read that Pjillips dimmable work better than some others.

I had one that took about a second to turn on after I hit the wall switch. that was annoying.

The local power company had a campaign a while back and gave us three CFL's that I installed in our hallway. If you turned them on entering the hall they would be getting ready to come on when you reached the other end of the hall.

I have purchased many LED's from tmart.com They have been exactly as described at great prices. We have 15 LED spotlights around our home and they are bright and economical. Be sure to look for "USA warehouse" instead of "Free worldwide shipping" When shipping from China it takes a long time - three weeks! I have no affiliation other than being a satisfied customer.

Funny! Many years ago, people were complaining that the local electric company was giving people 100W lightbulbs around Christmas when people came in to pay their bills. Most people don't have much use for 100W bulbs, but every little bit of extra usage would help the electric company.

Does a "60W" LED replacement have the same lumens that a 60W incandescent puts out? Most 60W CFLs put out lower lumens, which I dislike.

They actually put out more light. The 60 watt equivalent that Batteries Plus sells puts out 800 lumens. The biggest advantage is that they only burn 8.5 watts. Light bulb packages are not supposed to indicate what the lumen rating is.

I have bought LED lamps sporadically over the last couple years. The first three that I bought about 2 years ago have now failed. One set of bulbs has a disconcerting delay of about a half second before they light up, probably due to the power supply starting up (the LED actually runs on something on the order of 2 VDC rather than 120 VAC, so a power converter has to be included in the bulb).

More recently bought LED bulbs have not had any problems except for one, which has a slight flicker occasionally. Mostly I bought the 60W bulbs, but I have a couple of 100W versions. I like a 200W bulb in my reading lamp (at 76 I need more light to read by) so I got a duplex socket and put 2 LED lamps into the fixture. I got the 100W LED lamps for around $10 each, wheras the 200W incandescents cost $4-5 apiece and last half a year at best. Have only had the duplex fixture for a couple months so far.
