quist we (or at least I do) need store original checked to get a good look for critique. Photos posted here are a shade or three darker here for some reason. About all I can say is you've caught a jovial mood here and I like the tight right crop and room above their heads.

Quite a good effort Jim.
Lets call them from left to right #1,#2,#3 & #4.
#1 is a little dark on the face and looks pasted in because she has no shadow.
#2, #3 & #4 look fine apart from where #4 hand is over #3 face. That also looks pasted.
But all in all, a good bit of fun, a few skills learnt, and a bit of knowledge gained.
Well done.

Nothing pasted. Just 4 layers and a lot of erasing

I thought the light looked like it naturally would. I did use one studio light about 20 feet away as a fill. I had the hand over her face so it would have a playfull look to it

Admirably skillful accomplishment by whatever technique (s) you used! (And I haven't the foggiest how you would render the missing shadow)

Glad to see you are no longer"blocked"

You don't "render the missing shadow" Dave, you leave it exposed on the layer rather than covering it with one of the other layers.

Thats true, if.you are there at the start. But now there's no shadow and if one startsv from a flattened image I am.curious about the techniques of reconstructing her shadow.

A nice composite with good composition and a nice fun element. Where these sink or swim is how good the technique is that has been employed and I personally cannot comment on that as download is not enabled and detail from a thumbnail only makes further comment impossible. Your choice if you enable download or not.
This is fun for sure and nothing wrong with using a well used and tested idea but this setting and model are perfect for pushing it further down the road of creativity.
A series of shots as she moves from one position to another showing movement blur in all but the starting position and final shot?
Something to lift it out of the "yep its one of those" category.
But a pleasant post.

Nice idea about the movement blur. Are you thinking second shutter sync?

As a sometime compositor of images where do feel this shadow should fall?
I find it hard to see on a thumbnail but will bow to your greater knowledge here. I would have said it was OK as it was but probably mistaken.
