Welcome to Day 85 :) Who would have ever thought that we'd still be going strong after this many days... Y'all should be very proud of yourselves. I can really see
the difference in the way you see things around you. Today I thought we'd take a look at something that most of us probably never pay any attention to. Nature's
Highlights. When you are out watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset ... have you ever turned around and looked at what the sun is shining on ? Once you try it,
you will discover the real beauty of nature. Sometimes it can create the most amazing highlights on common everyday things and really change the way they look.
Here are a few examples to get us started .... I look forward to seeing Nature's Highlights in your world.
Dear PG
I really like the third one of your photos....I would LOVE to be there right now! Looks like paradise.
Susie Q.
Here is a photo of an Iris I took just a few hours ago in my backyard....Out here in California, many of our flowers are starting to bud and bloom!
The second one is a grave stone. Look at how the sun light hitting it causes the ornate carving to be seen on one side of the stone, but not on the other, and the lack of sun light is so pronounced that it is black!
Happy Picture taking,
Susie Q
P.S. An easy way to get a black background for flower shots is to use a car windshield sunshade. You know those ones that are black on one side and silver on the other. You generally have one with you, and you can use both sides. The black side(when placed behind your subject) will get rid of all busy background, and the silver one many times will reflect extra sunlight on your subject!

Great examples Sherry...I'm anxious to get started when the new day starts... need to go back to bed right now..... wasn't feeling well last night and went to lay down... left the computer on.... noticed the light on when I made my usual middle of the night sogourn. See ya later...
My stab at this. Thanks for looking
Douglas
This was rather different, but it might fit the challenge.. I had gone outdoors last Monday morning. on March 19th, because I had seen a hint of a sunrise in the east to my right. when I got outside the sunrise was not very prominent in the sky, then turning to the left, looking more in a westerly direction I saw this beautiful pink cloud over our village. the beautiful colour from the fledgling sunrise must have been picked up and reflected in the cloud.
Uhhhmmm, nature isn't shining here today - it's pouring rain. Archives allowed?
Might this be related to today's subject?

No, St-Irenée on the north shore of the St. Lawrence down in Charlevoix Co.
Better now, had a rough night! Son's 50th.
Sunset in the sails
More sun, more sails
OK..the sun set in back of me but the last rays bounced off of the clouds. You might call this a 270° sunset
Bouncing rays

I was just suffering the same thought.
seems we will have no choice.
my suggestion
shoot something today anyway
It is my goal to shoot EVERYDAY and POST IT
but when there is no sun to shine light on a subject
well..............................................................
Here is one not taken today and not of nature...
but when the light came through the window and hit this kid
I grabbed the cam and shot into a mirror to get him...I just love it and I have no idea who this kid is.
Ill look around for sunlight on nature.
BTW...PEANUT..do you recall me telling you to LOOK FOR THE LIGHT....well here you go........
