Great photos of the Swallowtail. I have not gotten a dragonfly photo even as good as yours :-D and try not to get too close to bees, so don't have any of those either.
Thank you. The dragonfly was pure luck. The front yard was just full of bees this morning and would not seat still.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Your photo's came out great.
Yesterday was a wonderful day even if it was long.

It sure is good for my 59.5 year old reflexes to try to capture a mini-bumblebee in flight, or a tiny moth. I could have so much fun with a macro lens! When I see all the awesome shots, it makes me not want to post. But, that's why we call it a challenge, right?
Do not feel bad. I had some also that were not that great, but is is still fun to see if you can get the shot.

Love the dragonflies that you got. At least yours were still long enough to get a good picture of them.

My wife passed 26 days ago. I went out birding and trying to ease my pain. As I was shooting this waterfall, this beautiful butterfly came in and landed on my ring finger. I honestly feel it was my wife coming back to me. She loved butterflies. I couldn't tell ya the last time I had a butterfly land on me, let alone land on my ring finger... God works in mysterious ways..
So sorry for your profound loss,Turtle. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I'm sure that that butterfly was exactly what you think! God can work in the most amazing ways!

I can't believe you caught that bee in flight, you are good :) Great photo's.
I know I really would like to get a macro lens as well. Maybe Santa can bring me one for Christmas. ;-) :-D
Pat, I got myself a waterproof camera to use in Hawaii next week. Planning to do a little snorkeling, and didn't want to leave my camera behind. Bought the Fuji XP 80 just for the fun of it. I'll let you see some next week maybe, if I get anything good enough.
In mean time here are a few archived bugs.
