Your scariest moment on a shoot...or when did panic start to set in

Scary..I live in Florida and I have found a spot where a family of manatees come daily. It is a blessing a very small boat harbor with walls straight down..My boxer Lucy got too close and fell off the seawall on top of a mama manatee which started trashing her tail....I grabbed Lucys collar and leg...she is totally panicked...collar comes off....grabbed other leg....manatee still trashing....I am trying to pull a 80# boxer straight up.....there was no one around to help...if you look at the second picture it was about 10 seconds later that she went in...Mama could have done some real damage protecting her pup....shes out shredded my arms some tweaked my back...inside of Lucys legs have some scrapes...thank God she is out alive and my baby is here with Dad. What a day...What is your scaryiest moment trying to just get the good shot?

Shooting an "unplanned event" at car race (reoad racing).
A fellow photographer said, afterwards, "I wonder if the tyre wall (which I was standing behind) would have stopped him".

I can post a photograph of what I was shooting if you like.

Many years ago, I was laying on the ground, next to the track, shooting photos at a motocross event. I was using a fairly long lens and really got into it. Lots of racers were getting great air. Suddenly, someone grabbed me and lifted me up and sideways. One of the racers lost control of his bike and was about to land right on me. Afterwards, I moved over a bit. Kept on shooting. I was using a Nikon FTN film camera.

This is not cropped. However I was shooting at 300mm at this point.
The scarey part was that I was only interested in capturing the image.

nice but i hope you are quick on your feet....it is surprizeing how fast a person can move when he has too also surprizeing how fast a manatees tail can come out of the water then slap it when they are startled....going to put some antibiotic on Lucy and goback to the boat dock...thank you all for shareing...

I shot weddings for 39 years and never had a nervous moment. The only thing that bothered me was getting there on time.

well it sounds exactly no stress but I love the adventure of Gods creatures.....but can definitely do without pulling my dog out of the way of a massive tail...but its something I will never forget....I just give thanks that it all came out with some wounds..and an experience the will last a life time..
the one before was the water moccasin and maybe to complete the circle we need a Python and an Alligator to make my day
