I am always amazed at how colorful bugs are. This one surprised me when I saw it on my monitor screen. But he is still kind of ugly!
Not too shabby!
I assume this was with your 105 macro lens (despite exif). Did you also use extension tubes? What illumination source?

I don't know why my Dines records a 24mm focal length. No extension tube this time, but I did crop about 3/4 out this time. Used the Dines ring flash at 75 percent but it ended up underexposed. Raised the exposure by about 1 stop with NX 2 program and didn't do a lot of fiddling with it. I am getting better about not over sharpening or over editing and they are coming out with a more natural look now.

I suspect that you had your 24-mm previously mounted on camera. Your D610 may not recognize your Dines lens.
I set a data update for a manual lens in the menu for my 24mm. I haven't entered my Dines in there yet. I bet that's why! I think this mystery just got solved ;-)
Thank you ;) That bowfly that you took was great! Which 105mm lens do you have? I saw you mention that it was an older one.

Thanks! I use a Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 AIS (manual focus only).

Great old lens! I had a 55mm micro Nikkor lens back in the early 70s that could get down to 1:1 with an M2 extension tube. I still like to focus by hand, as old habits die hard. I have four manual focus lenses, the Nikon 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f1.4, 500mm f/4 and my Dines 105mm f/2.8. I am thinking about getting an old Nikkor 35mm next.
