When flying becomes tiresome......take a taxi.
It's been awhile since I've posted but I just had to share this with you. I was out again this morning, checking up on my Canada Geese at the Cranberry. While looking out over the water I saw something I had never seen before. I did a double take before I could raise the camera. Was I really seeing a Red-winged Blackbird, perched on the back of a goose? Not only was that the case but the RWB appeared to be quite content to just sit there. There was no flapping of wings, by either party, nor did the little one make an attempt to launch anytime soon. The goose is one of the group that I've come to know and when he saw me he made a bee-line to the platform where I was, carrying the Blackbird with him. The RWB finally took off when the goose came out of the water to climb the embankment. When the RWB finally left the gooses' back it flew back to a spot in the cattails where I suspect it has a nest. I believe this behaviour was to move the goose away from the fledglings. Whatever the reason, for this unusual behaviour, I was so happy to have seen it. Here's hoping you enjoy this and also hoping you're all well.

They had a bet on the something and the goose lost. Now he has to be the RWB's driver for a while.
Great set, Joe, and like what had been said many times before "seeing is believing!" Also, the downloads were beautiful!

Lucky for the RWB that the goose didn't win!
