The Fujifilm 50 - 230 lens

The Fujifilm 50 - 230 is no slouch. I have a hummingbird feeder attached to my kitchen window. One little 2 inch long female sits and drinks her fill, and poses for me. The 230 doesn't autofocus very well, so I usually focus manually. Here is a crop using the XT-1, at F7, ISO 800 at 1/500 through a dirty kitchen window at 200mm

Nice shot Cat, nice detail. I haven't been able to train any of my visitors to pose like that yet.

I was amazed at the clarity if the photo, taken as it was through a double paned window at about 2 meters from the window. I guess whoever made this window used pretty good glass. Hope I can get one of the little males today. They are even smaller than the females, and they hover, rather than perch to drink. The girls just sit themselves down and fill up - much less wary than the boys.

What a beautiful shot, CatMarley! I love it! I might try one of those feeders that stick on your window! :)

Nice work.

I like your choice of Fujifilm gear.

I shoot a good full frame Nikon, however I still love my (going on 10 year old) Fujifilm bridge camera.

Would it be ok Cat, if I posted a picture in your thread just to show
how unbelievably sharp the old Fuji is?

Thank you Cat.

With a directors chair and 6 pack, I climbed onto the roof
of my sunroom and snapped away until I got:
"Sunset Sunday".

Anyway, "Wrist Chrono" is a fair example of how
sharp an old and inexpensive Fujifilm bridge camera can be.

Wrist Chrono. It needs to be "downloaded".
