I am start to test google photos as a backup process
good side is that it is unlimited and 16MB limit is a reasonable quality to me, but I find something that might be related to lightroom
I use nikon d5100 shoot in raw and during the import to LR5 pick convert to DNG.
if I use google photos upload, all the dng file is only 1027x678 size only,
but i did a simple test just upload nef file they are full resolution 4928x3264
I get a sample file from
http://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/m9/sample-photos-3.htm I can also get full size upload too, 4902x3263.
the question is what might be wrong on dng file convert by lr5?
what i like best on the google photos is the search is extremely powerful, so far I upload 40000 photos, and i still have another 40000 to go. a powerful system for total backup.
thanks.

That's a lot of photos! I use Google Photos for sharing, not storage. I'd forget the dng and go with the largest size you can - NEF.
