Love your composition! So interesting and appealing. I wouldn't have guessed flash lighting. Very nicely done!

Very nicely done GG. Crisp and clean with nice colors. I would expect a black background with flash in the evening. Did you replace it or alter it in post?

A Nikkor 200-mm macro lens on a full-frame Nikon D800 camera should produce a bit larger image of bee, when shot at Minimum Focusing Distance. Your original post is a nice close-up photo, and requires just a little cropping to emulate true macro proportions.

Thanks A-PeeR. It was pre-sunset and an ISO of 1000. I used diffusers on the flash heads. I don't know if that factors into the background color?

ISO would explain it. It may also explain when downloading the file I noticed heavy background grain while the image was being rendered. Once complete the grain went away... Perhaps resizing the final image helped eliminate the grain, not sure....
