Snakes hunt under my magnolia tree every day. They don't seem to mind my presence; I am trying to get used to theirs. They blend so well with the surroundings! Every day I walk out to the tree looking for the snakes because I know they are there; when I finally spot them, I am usually within a foot of them.
In previous posts, I have introduced Legolas Le Zard. Today, I introduce you to two more.
Hortense Le Zard - still quite small. The curled leaf behind her is about 3" long.

Belle E. Crawler - she is a stout lady and a very able hunter. I don't have to wait long for her to snatch up a meal - it's just too quick for me to catch with my camera!

At least 3 snakes live under this birdbath. A sadistic streak made me place that old rusty axe against the tree just to keep them on their toes. oh . . . wait . . .

Thanks for looking and for the  s, Didereaux! Mr. Green looks kind of evil, so maybe you have a sadistic streak, too?

Nice ones STVest...you are lucky indeed to be able to watch these creatures in your backyard!!
Loved your entertaining story and images, Sherry! Laughed out loud at #3 :)
What a wonderful garden of critters you get to enjoy.
How cool is that!!! Maybe you should point them in the direction of your caterpillar cluster, they might be able to help you out!!
What kind of snakes are they Sherry?? When my boys were young, we had 4 garter snakes that we kept indoors. I actually do like them!!
:-D :-D

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment. Snakes are pretty - especially in the form of belts, bags, and shoes.
