Sharing some info

Middle of the week, tired of outputting last weekends wedding pics, time to input something to UHH.

This is a two fisted info share that I hope will help some newbie wedding photogs and also turn on some light bulbs for the veterans. I will not insert the link here because Admin will move the post to References. I will reply to this post with the link.

The first part concerns Sal Cincotta and his Shutter Magazine. I cannot speak too highly of Sal. Although he is a renowned, high end St. Louis photographer he is one of the few "real" wedding photographers sharing his knowledge in a down to earth, albeit, outspoken way and mostly for free. His Shutter Magazine is a wealth of knowledge. The online version is free. Too really appreciate Sal you have to watch one of his many free webinars. BTW...That is East St. Louis, as in Illinois. That makes him a true Midwesterner which probably explains his straight shooting, honest and real life personality. Right? Bob?

The second part concerns an article in the June issue of Shutter Mag. It is by a renowned LA wedding photographer by the name of Michael Anthony. It is about lighting for wedding pics, especially using one off camera flash. It is short and sweet and covers some very basic techniques that can be easily worked into a wedding scenario. IMO...these techniques are totally lost on wannabee wedding photogs and totally ignored by some teaching pros that are looking to one up the other guy with un-doable set ups for the average wedding photography.

Keep in mind that these are basic techniques that can and should be adapted to your own style and situation. Personally, I do not care too much for Mr. Anthony's style, but I have been using these techniques for years to hopefully create better images.

If you click on the link in the following "reply" you should get the article with out illustrations. If you subscribe to Shutter, it is in the June issue. If you do not, please use the links provided with the article to subscribe.

Thanks for sharing the info. Just FYI, I had signed up on 2 separate occasions to get the online version of Shutter magazine, and all that ever happened was that I get links to send me to the "new issue" but all I got was a link to ads trying to get me to purchase a subscription.

I'd love to access Shutter magazine, but have yet to have any luck. I may have to try again. I've been a fan of Sal, but have never had the pleasure of meeting him. I've been to seminars and met many very accomplished photographers, but he's on my bucket list.
