Traveling Carnival at the local mall & a 'surprise'!

The local mall had one of those traveling Carnival / Thrill ride things in the parking lot the other day so I stopped by to get some extended exposure shots after dark.... While I was getting a few photos I was approached by a young lady who asked me if I wanted to take her pic. I obliged & it took me all of 30 sec. to figure out what her profession was. It didn't take her long to ask me if I'd like a 'Date'. I smiled and shook my head & said 'you know, I'll be celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary in a couple of months.... She smiled and said 'that's so sweet' and was gone in less than a minute....

Some excellent shots there.
But to refer to her as a "lady" is a bit of a misnomer considering her profession.

Thanks... She has indeed.. & I did enjoy talking to her. Her attention probably had something to do with the fact that I had attended a fancy dinner earlier in the evening and was dressed in some what upscale attire... I think I've talked my wife into a week long driving vacation with multiple stops at photo op. locations for our 40th. We spent our 30th on a beach in Mexico which was ok but a bit dull for my tastes.... Oh, congrats on your 39th!

Beautiful shots - I love these kind of shots from carnivals.
Approached by a working girl huh? Well congrats on not taking her up on the offer. Lots of guys would have jumped at the opportunity - good for you! Also congrats on your upcoming anniversary.

Thanks, I think I'll crop a few & try some HDR / Topaz stuff on em...
I ride herd on a bunch of diesel mech. at the local Transit agency on 2nd shift and sometimes go through some interesting parts of Dallas & take photos on my way home so it ain't my 1st rodeo. I DID find her attractive in kind of an exotic fashion but honestly the thought never entered my mind... My wife truly is the love of my life.... I could only hope for 40 more years w/ her & will gladly take whatever I can get.....

Your words made me smile :-D It would be very easy to take a gal like her up on it wouldn't it... except for her financial requirements - tee... hee. I'm proud of you Mr.
Nice going and nice shots.

I post the below only to illustrate why I enjoyed your shots.

This was an experiment. My grand daughter then age 11 against a carnival background in pitch black. I had to use a flashlight to get focus on her face. This is flash delay.
If you know what that is it's an interesting approach.

Enjoyed the shots of the Carnival Rides & your Grand-daughter. I have 2 (4 & 5) that are the light of my life. Thanks for sharing.... I carry 2 LED flashlights for night shoots but most often have to rely on zoomed Live view and manual focus. I go to my widest aperture to get dialed in and then switch to the prefered DOF setting...
