Hi Vinman,
Sorry to hear about your troubles!
Sometimes a change to your monitor can affect what you see and thus what prints. It has settings that can change hue, tone, temperature, etc.

Certain video software, video games, and websites often contain a feature for THEIR optimum viewing experience. If you recall seeing an "Adjust the slider until you can see the object" tool in your travels those are the biggest culprits. They adjust much more than brightness. Go to the Display settings on your computer AND monitor and set EVERYTHING to "recommended" and or factory median. Some folks even buy a screen calibrator but they're an expensive last resolve. Then... Look at your pic and see if it has that hue on it. Adjust accordingly.

I hope you find the cause soon and the fix is a low cost fix!
Best of luck to you!!

First check for a clogged inkjet nozzle. Run your printer utility and print the test print/pattern to see if a nozzle is clogged. If so, run the nozzle cleaning routine in the utility. More times than not, this is the culprit.

If this is a sudden difference, and you were not having the problem before, you might be running into a mismatch with your paper and ICC profile. I have run into that problem before when I had PS manage colors (you should have PS manage color not the printer), told it to print using a certain profile (say Canon Platinum Gloss) and then loaded the printer with a soft rag matte paper by accident. Threw the colors off completely.

You may have rendering intent set incorrectly. Most of the time one uses Relative Or Absolute Colorimetric in PS print dialog window, and occasionally Perceptual for some papers (like Rag Matte). Selecting the wrong one for the paper can also throw off colors dramatically in some instances. Check that you didn't accidentally make a change.

Just had the same problem. Was a clogged yellow nozzle. The printer utility repaired it after about $20.00 worth of ink.

Color mamagement is one of the most complicated digital issues. Actual source colors, display color capability, printer color capability, ink cartridge particulars, printer paper capability. Then there is the human eye and things like cataracts. On top of that is the chromaticity chart and how it was derived and how it is used. I once saw that chart with the triangles various color descriptors used - sRGB (the TV tube standard) triangle is smaller than the Adobe RGB 1998 angle and there are other triangles that positioned differently and angled differently. None embrace anywhere close to the entire chrimaticity capability of the 'health' eye - and that chart was derived partly from psychological examinations of human subjects. So color is hard to manage and control. Is anyone able to 'see' and recognise a, say, 'pure' green?

Thanks to all. I had just replaced the yellow ink, I use aftermarket and may be that's the problem. I'll play with it when I get home tonight.
