Geese... Sorry to hear the fog monster has returned.
I hope the mountain is above it though.

Beautiful moon shot!  So crisp and clear!

I had a clear sky night last night and was waiting like a dog waits for a hamburger.
 At myself. I knew if I glued down the toe holds that I would have to redo two of them. :? So it seems, two steps forward and one step back.
But the tripod landed within 0.1 degrees of level. Close enough for me to play.
Flustered with my astro camera's I went to visual mode and worked out bugs. Found out they liked the moon, but can't find the stars. :hunf: A deep space camera that can't see a star.
So I took several strings of Moon shots with various filters Barlow's, and Barlow combinations with the eyepiece camera. Just playing around.
I just haven't figured out how to get them out of my laptop. ROTFLMAO!
Looks like it's going to be clear here again tonight. So yep, going to be out back in the light pollution again. More fun than insulators and birds on poles, but still a lot to learn.
It's in the 90's today. Wanna trade some fog for some heat? ;)

I would love to trade for some heat, I've been wearing a flannel shit for a month now. I had 101* in Jan.
Forecast says clear skies on June 6th. RIGHT!!!
Can you record your shots in JPEG or TIFF format??? Or take AVIs and get snapshots out of that???
The propaganda says: Orion 52097 StarShoot You can choose to save your images in TIF, BMP, JPG, or PNG formats; and save video footage as AVI (Windows) or MOV

Craig, I downloaded and used the screen magnifier (part of Win7, it magnifies by a factor of about 4-5). The detail, especially at the edges is just amazing!! I finally got everything to go right and took about a dozen shots three nights ago, all looked good on LCD, various exposures. When I put the sd card into my computer, it told me it no longer recognizes the card reader. After downloading new drivers, swapping out to all other available usb slots and everything else I could do, it now tells me there arent any images to upload. Instead of doing something I'll regret, I just put the card back in my camera, and backed away til I find another alternative. I think there's a lesson in this somewhere... Again, great shot!!

If the camera sees the files on the card, can you upload them to the computer using the USB cable? I normally do that anyway, on the assumption that the card is the most fragile part of the equation, and it is much less likely to be damaged while sitting in the camera. I know a lot of people don't like to do that, and that's fine, but if it is the only way to get the images in, it must be worth a try...

Sonny if you are having problems with the camera seeing dim stars it could be that the gain on the camera is set too high, take a series of 3-5 second shots while adjusting the gain you should be able to see stars.

If the camera you are having issues with is viewing through the OAG I have this same issue from time to time I just have to adjust the side to side action of the OAG, or use an independent guide scope.

Thank you very much Charlie. I have cards the computer does not like to read too.
And like Bloke I just use the USB Cable hookup to the Camera.
Did you got that with you Camera. I hope that works out for you.

Thank you Jim very much. I finally got a good focus.
I now have a Crayford Focuser and hopefully someday I'll get clear skies to use it.

Thank you Matthew for the complement and for helping Sonny out with his dilemma.
I too will need that kind of help when I can get my Auto Guider on line.

Using the cable, and Windows picture viewer, I finally got the pictures transfered, only to find that they are nearly all horribly out of focus. Back to the drawing board. I need to call on my innate stubbornness to try again and hope. Since I'm having to focus manually, its prolly my eyes getting worse than I thought. Thanks for the help. The cable should work OK, the eyes, well....
