First Cardinal Photos

My first attempt to photo local birds at a local park. Nikon 7100 with Nikon 80-400mm lens. No after photo changes made. Couldn't believe how fast these birds move. Had to use auto focus to catch her.

Nice shots...I had never seen an image of this specific bird prior to your post....interestingly enough and despite it's common name, Red-Crested Cardinal; the bird is not a cardinal at all...see the reference below...

Very interesting that it is actually a sparrow. I saw this bird for the first time about 15 years ago and it has been increasing over the years. I see very few males (all red) and almost had its pictures last Monday. I thank you for your post.
