I have a Sigma 80-400 Canon mount lens that is in need of repair. The aperture does not stop down. Tested it on three bodies with the same result. Looking for repair shop recommendations. Thanks.

Thanks Traveler, MT. Will they give an estimate before starting repair?

Of course they will. How old is the lens? Are you sure its not still under warranty? Sigma's warranty is either 3 or 4 years versus Canon's 1 year.

I wish it were under warranty. I bought it used about 5 years ago from KEH.

The warranty is 5-6 years. Was it used?

As Traveler and MT pointed out, the repair facility is in Ronkonkama. I have been there and had adjustments made at not charge. And, I was able to wait the 15-20 minutes they needed to do the work.
They are extremely nice to deal with.

Thanks for the input. Good to know. I have heard both good and bad about Sigma customer support and service.

The sigma center is the best place to send it. I had a 70-300 that the motor stoppes working. it was 3yrs old at the time and I sent it in with a letter explainging the problem and asking for an estimate to repair.... abt 2 weeks went by and no response from them. I figured I will give them another day or two and then it shows up in the mail all fixed.....and no charge.
I would recommend them anytime.

This makes me feel better about my Sigma purchases. I have a gray market Nikon lens and just a older used 80-200 afs I worry about getting repaired. I here bad things about Nikon repair service. Glad to here good things about Sigma USA.

My favorite is C.R.I.S. in Arizona. (Google them) They have done several lenses for me. Fast, courteous, reasonable, pre-work estimate, etc. After they returned one lens, there was a software update. They offered to do it for free, if I returned the lens. They even paid the shipping back. My kinda guys. (They are Sigma, Nikon, etc. authorized.)

If you mean you hear they won't repair gray market products, then you hear correctly. Why is that a "bad thing"? Nikon USA didn't import it and they choose not to repair it. It's just business.
