Sigma has made several different versions of this lens. What does the description on the lens barrel say ?

Some versions will not autofocus with Nikon DSLR's that do not have a focus motor in the body.

I have one with macro , red line, very good Says Sigma APO DG. Great lens on a tight budget. I was going to sell it, but decided not, because it comes in handy for macros. Great lens. I have version for Canon.

I have this one (for Sony A mount) and like it. Does exhibit lense creep at steep angles but hard to beat for the price.
I didn't check just now, but I have seen them for less tha $100.00 used at the big three.
