Taken Sun AM with my new Nikon 3100 P&S. Tried shooting birds in flight with my Sigma 100-300mm with a 2x. Not very successful. LOL. Will continue trying.

Not sure I uderstand, a D3100 point and shoot? Or did you use the D3100 to quickly point and shoot?

The Nikon 3100 is a 14MP P&S, not to be confused with the D3100 DSLR. All of my other digitals are Sigmas. I wanted the additional pixels (I had a Nikon 5.1 MP P&S) plus the additional features not available on my original Nikon P&S. Hope this helps.

Nice shot...got one of those Nikon COOLPIX S3100 PS for a grand-daughter and she loves it............

Its heavy. I guess only with great muscular strength you can follow a BIF with that lens.
