Thanks for posting this, Ron. The blooms look a little like those of the bottle brush shrub. There must be a lot of varieties of Banksias. The ones I'm familiar with are Lady Banks roses (Banksiae lutea). They're an old southern staple here. :-D

Earl, pleaase, go buy a book, these are straight forward Aussie flowers/shrubs, yes, Banksias, and the white one posted by sx2002 is a standard bottle brush, ( melaleuca, ) Its a great hobby mate, exploit it.
