I only do basic PP editing with Elements. I am always cropping, and never had a problem. All of a sudden every time I try to crop a picture when I click on the "check mark" I get a blank screen and a window to the right indicate a Layer Background. I must have hit something, but I have no idea what I did. Can I get me some help, PLEASE?

Perhaps a glitch. If no one says oh "go to and then..." you can rely on the old method:

When in doubt reboot is for computers, but for software when in doubt remove and reload (save your S#) and any presets and plugins. For some programs if you try to reload with out removing a screen asks if you want to repair... easy choice!

After you get the glitch solved checkout it is a key to opening additional abilities in PSE and runs $12.

before doing anything e-mail the program company and ask; I tried to fix once and had to re-buy the software.

If your software is reasonably current e.g. PSE 10-13 and you have a license then there is no worry.

Hbohrs... "tried to fix once and had to re-buy" is an ultra concern and should not be a deterrent to standard remove and reload or to example fixing windows by using to disk and closing "repair" typically works well even on corrupted OS such as W-7...

Of course Adobe customer service people has been known for having an anal sphincter.

You can try a reset of the program.

I have PSE 12.

Edit - Preferences - General

In the lower section of the box you will have 3 tabs to choose from. Most likely the top tab.

Close and reopen program.
