Watching your nest while watch one on my porch here in Lexington. I fear this one is much more dramatic. Suspect one od the neighborhood free range house cats is the cause, but my nest is now a single parent operation. And two days ago, we had a bluejay attack. Although Mother did e best she could, we lost one chick to the theiving blue bas....ard!

Then yesterday AM, I watch mother feed the nest, then fly off 30 feet or so, and perched in the sun. I had a heart to heart with her, and reminded her of the neighborhood thugs.

That is very sad to hear! Is there any way you can put something around the net to keep them out? As you can see she put the nest here in a very good spot. It is tucked in pretty close to the roof.:) I only see the Mom bring in food at my nest. I think Dad is out goofing around.:)

Thank you Corky! Yes they don't take to long to leave the nest. I will try for shots about every 3 days.:)
