Would the YONGNUO YN600EX-RT be a good buy

I'm thinking about getting the YONGNUO YN600EX-RT. I currently have a Canon Speedlite 420EX. I know this is old and not that great and I want of get a new one that future proof (not that I plan on buying any more camera bodies). I also looked at the YONGNUO YN568 EX II TTL , it's only a $20.00 difference in price, between the two. The YN600ex is $20.00 more. So which one do you think would be the great buy? Looking for recommendations Thanks

I have a couple of them that work nice with my Canons, the first one I received did not work, send it back and had it replaced with another one that does work fine (also with my Canon's - have 3 Canon 600's). I then got another Yungnuo 600 (since they now only cost $125) and that one works too. They do lack a little in the build quality, so you better pamper them a little more while handling, but performance is nice.

Can you use your Yungnuo flashes with your canon ex600rt and if so how do you trigger them. I have two canon ex600rt and the canon transmitter but want more flashes without paying $500 a pop. Thanks Greg

Yes I use them right along with the Canon units and trigger them all with the ST-3 or another 600, at $125 you'll get 4 Yungnuos for 1 Canon!

I have a Yongnuo flash, although not that model. Seems well built and for the price, hard to beat. I would recommend it. Now all,I need to do is learn how to use it.

I followed your old posts when you had your original problem Im really happy your problems are solved and your passing on the at least financial benefits of these units. Its really good to get any feedback, as I use these flash units with total satisfaction. I would like to know how you rate them now . For me it about how yongnou is consistant with quality control. Off the track I needed another ring flash to do some 3d shots Yongnou 14 just cracked it and I find it a much nicer light that the canon for portraits.

Yeah, I think I will like them, just had these for a very short time, but they work just nicely among the other units. The build is still one point I'm not so sure about, but time will tell. The light is a little more on the harsh site (compared to the Canon's), but everything works as advertised, and for a quarter of the price, I think they're hard to beat!

Nikon owner here, hope I don't a fend anyone. But I owned a YONGNUO
and the Nikon SB700 and found the Nikon to be less harsh. So I stuck with the Nikon.

And, ofc course some old manual Vivitars or sumpacks or whatevers with opticals or slave triggers will do the same for lots less money--and maybe more power for a 215.

Have owned and used the YN560 tens of thousands of times, just can't kill it. Also now use the YN568EX. Both well built and dependable. I upgraded to get high sync flash for a Fraction of the Nikon equivalent. Never looking back....

I have a Nissin flash and it works great. Very durable and plays nice with my Canon camera. Mine is a higher end flash with many nifty features. It has a swivel head, built in diffuser. You can buy a second battery holder for quick change when the batteries run down, Nissin makes other models costing less that I am sure will play well with your gear. You might want to check them out.
