I have not posted pics yet so time to get started in a big way. I am hoping the group will get some enjoyment from this. This was actually a wedding a year and 1/2 ago. The couple actually surprised me with their climb up the back of the waterfall. I think it was after a few drinks and I was not ready. I did not have a long lens but got the shot. I was just not very proud of the quality of the image. However, they just recently asked if I could crop some of the images in 16 x20. I did some of the better ones but went back in and heavily photoshopped this one. I figured I might as well go all out. Some would say too overdone, but this image is pretty much all out.

I love it!
Actually the range is perfect, it captures the setting just right but still has the subjects large enough to see detail

Thanks! The detail is what I was not happy with in the original. I have used everything in my toolbox to bring out the detail. Including zooming in and working on skin tone. I guess I am afraid of pixel peepers :)

I think you did a excellent job making this special mention pop! Yes pixel peepers will find stuff they don't like, but for me as a print hung on a wall this one rocks, and if you have to view it at six inches away all your doing is looking for flaws instead of appreciating the moment captured. Now every great shot is technically correct . Can you tell I really like this shot. Greg
Very nice. But have to ask, what is the yellow area?

Don,
The answer is ... I don't know! There was a sunset going on and weird cloud formations. I did not create it so it must have been part of this stuff.

Everyone's taste is different. I'm the guy who occasionally looks at the "overcooked" HDR's and think they could have cooked it a little bit longer. On the other hand, sometimes, I think they ruined the photo. The main thing is, people see beauty in Picasso, which I think my 4 year old Graddaughter could paint more pleasing images.
Long story short, there is plenty of detail, and in "big picture" terms I really like the first shot. I have to admit the second one looks a little too cut and pasted. Not sure if that's what you did, but it is the feeling I get. (me, personally) All in all, it REALLY only matters how you, and your clients feel about the images. Don't ever try to please me, for one thing, because my opinion is so all over the place, I never know what I'm going to say. .
I really look forward to seeing more posts from you. Very sharp detail, you did well my friend.

I would agree, #2 looks a bit cut and paste, maybe a bit much on the contrast, this is where a bit of shallowness comes into the play, not much, just enough to separate the subjects form the background ............ IMO

The first one looks almost like a movie poster. My guess is that they would really enjoy that one.

#2 was a bit over overcooked via some Topaz filters. There is also a medium rare version.
Actually, the clients requested I take some wrinkles out of the grooms pants which I did.

Now, this one I like  Still has some pop, but doesn't look cut and pasted. Nice job.

I find that I am still searching for what I like and more importantly what others like so I end up with several versions. Then sometimes black and white looks the best.
