It is amazing how much unexploded ordnance, and remains of soldiers are still being found.

Thanks so much for posting this, bcheary. I hadn't seen this site before. I recognized many of the places shown and have visitted them several times, in fact my Avatar is of the "Mother Canada" statue on the Vimy Ridge Memorial.
For a couple of weeks prior to November 11, 2014 I posted a series on WW1 sites and memorials on the forum if anyone is interested to look them up.

Interesting photos for sure. And even though there can be good outcomes to war, such as the present condition of freedom in Europe and the now wonderful things happening in Japan - in the end it's pretty horrible.

I agree Jimmy. Someone once said that war was the supreme folly of man. Can't argue with that.
