Off to celebrate my Mom's 93rd birthday in Interlochen, MI, then wander about in God's Country (northern Michigan) with camera in hand. It turns out that Iris are my mother's favorite flower so this is a fitting image to leave behind while I'm gone.

Thanks Randy. It's Topaz Glow, blended in Soft Light mode. I try to get an effect where the glow seems to emanating from within the flower.

Thanks Mike. Back when I was kid my Mom recommended I read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Ring Series ....... she'd recognize your name in a heartbeat.

Thanks James. I really liked the delicate colors of this particular species .... it almost looks translucent with the rain drops. I'll do my best to return in one piece with a buffer full of photos.
