Cameras like cars drop in price at the end of the season. Such is the case with cameras and even PSE 13 for $30 after rebate.

I have never had a problem with "refurb" items. My Sony HX50v is a refurb now six mounts old and running fine. $450 normal price, refurb $180 and then $150 later. I bought in at the $180 level. Never sorry, love it.

The Canon SX50 is an excellent camera. You will make many happy to afford this camera. Kudos Budnjax

Thank You for the HEADS UP!! I was going to ask which was better liked the Nikon P510 or the Canon. I'm new to digital and have limited funds. When I saw the price on the refurbished model it was less than the Nikon used at KEH. So I bought one. In Film I'm kind of a Nikon guy but I'm not locked in on that. PS How do HHogs feel about KEH? I do have one and love it....use it more than all my DSLR gear combined....most of my Canon gear was bought as refurbs from Canon USA or Adorama....never had a problem with anything except a 14mm f/2.8 lens which wasn't very sharp, so sent it back for full refund. All the Canon refurbs have the same warranty as new equipment, however you have to be careful where you buy as sometimes a dealer like Adorama will have the same item as the Canon website but at a lower price, sometimes a lot lower.

Unless this camera model number is different in the UK, you have the wrong number. The OP said SX 50 HS.

If you recall I'm the film guy who said that digital was like a machine gun. BOY do I like this machine gun. I might give up film (except B&W) entirely.
