Religion as I understand it does not pretend to encompass the activity of science and its acute skepticism. Religion presents humans with a belief system offering a certainty of understanding which all humans profoundly desire, whether knowingly or not.
It occurs to me scientists and religionists have in common this quest for certainty, although science offers a system of knowledge and understanding subject to change over time. Religion insists on an unchanging view of existence accessible to humans.
