Boat -tailed Grackle ! (I think )

Shot this one of a Grackle at the convention centre on South Padre Island -texas two years ago whilst on a birding trip. I was using a Panasonic FZ8 most of the pics I took were very dissapointing but one or two were OK. The follwing picture is of a load of Yellow headed blackbirds. The last one is of a cowbird.

Nope, top one is a Great-tailed Grackle. Notice the color of its eyes. West of the Mississippi they are brown in Boat-tails.

Aah - thanks for the correction - will have to revise my Texas life list by one at least - pretty sure I got the rest correct though - smiles

very wonderful set, the grackle is super and #3 is great with the red eye :thumbup: :thumbup:

Thank you mile there is another post with a shot of a large group of Yellow headed blackbirds - at a closer distance than the one inlcuded in this set.
