This Great couple, Mr. & Mrs. Flycatcher, has undertaken to build themselves a home.
Building Site
Cres spends her time gathering up the building materials and delivering them to the construction site

Ted, apparently the self-appointed construction manager, flies from limb to limb pontificating, I'm sure, about how she should accomplish her task and how he could do it better and faster
How neat, and beautiful pictures as well, Sherry! These birds are a pleasure to have around the yard. They eat lots of big bugs, and if that's not enough, their calls are a hoot. Hope they like monster skeeters.

Thank you, Donna. These guys are not nearly as skittish as most birds and are hanging around a lot in the lower branches, which I didn't think they did. Their nest is only about 12' above the ground and I have an unobstructed view to the cavity. I am really hoping to be able to see a bit of action once the babies arrive. If these birds put a dent in my mosquito population they will get too fat to fly!
When I first looked out my door this morning, there was a Baltimore Oriole supping at the hummingbird feeder. My first one. He is so bright and beautiful! If he hasn't already flown off, I'm sure he'll be gone by the time I return from my trip.
Sounds like your flycatchers have all but settled in, Sherry, and I hope your Oriole is still around when you return from your trip.

Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comment, Chuck. She would flit around from branch to branch near the cavity before she would finally enter to deliver the goods - I'm guessing in an effort to not be obvious about her task.
What a cute couple, Sherry and I enjoyed the shots and your captions!!
Hope we get to see the finished home!
:)
