Out of focus highlights manipulation
The highlights can be shaped by placing non-reflective black paper at the front of a lens. The paper has a uniquely shaped cutout that creates the identically-shaped highlights. For more information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBjoonaWQAA

The tweezer photo is not a composite. There is no focus stacking. 1:1 Magnification, MPE-65 lens
Enjoy :)

You are correct. Here is another photo with the same shaped cutout.

Thanks for the reminder.... I used to do something similar back in film days.... I need to go back & see if there are other techniques I used to use that would still be applicable to digital... I've already done the "zoomimg" while shooting trick...

I too use to zoom my one touch Sigma lens with the Canon AE-1. I focused on a digital LCD clock in a darkened room and zoomed the lens :)
