Just read an article about the aperture sweet spot of a lens.
With zoom lens (18 - 200 or 300mm) is there a 2nd sweet spot for focus also? Do Prime Lens have one also?

The sweet spot for a zoom lens would include the focal lenght along with the lens opening. A prime would be 'sweetest' at one, or a range of lens openings.

The sweet spot is something that you have to try with your own kit as different makes have different ranges of (Sharp) focus.
Many guides on how to do this on the net. Most lenses tend to work well mid range of their focal lengths and lose clarity and focus at extremes. (Zoom out a 300mm and try to read small print, then walk closer and try again zooming back a bit there seems to be less glass in the way) I suppose this is why some lenses are more expensive than others.
