Lightroom 5 or 6? 6 is supposed to be available in stores on dvd next month. You can download 6 right now from Adobe's site, you just don't get a cd/dvd.

You can get Lightroom 5 in Costco.
Correction : Any ideas if lightroom 5 will be on sale for $ 79.00 ?
In Amazon.com I see LR5 upgrade for 79 or open box and new for 68.99. All else is higher.

Lightroom 6 is already available. It has several improvements: Supports panorama and HDR processing; allows you to erase parts of a mask; recognizes faces in photos to facilitate tagging; can use modern graphics processors to speed up processes. The panorama and HDR processing each produce a RAW file!
Upgrade cost me about $85 including tax. I downloaded it on 21 April and it works great.
This may be the last time Adobe sells Lightroom as a stand-alone product and they may not upgrade the stand-alone product, but I figure if I can get more than eight and a half months out of it before I need to move to a future version of Lightroom CC, I come out ahead.

LR 6 is $149 outright, and $79 download only. They try to push for LR 6 CC, and unless you click the actual price ($149) when ordering, you won't see the availability of the $79 upgrade.

If you buy it from COSTCO, you're buying the standalone version, not the LR 6 CC.
You have to pay to have it confiscated? Just uninstall and throw the box away. It's always free to confiscate a product.

He should have said non-confiscation fee.
