Last week end I had the opportunity to drive through the Yakima Indian Reservation just above Goldendale Washington..we stopped along the highway and watched a stallion chase after a mare and foal that he had just recently stolen, she was trying to get back to her stallion who was left badly bitten up and limping, and put her into his herd. It was quite the chase and even ended up with him challenging us and he stopped just 30 yards from us.

We named him "Challenger"
We named him "Challenger"...

The loser..

Putting the errant mare back in his herd

He "snaked" her all the way up a hill to his herd..they were about 1/2 a mile away from us.

Yes he is..he had very few bite marks on him so you know he had been winning quite a lot..
There are over 5000 head of wild horses on the reservation.
