I just know there is a better way to do what I am trying to do I just have not hit on it yet. What I want to do is process all my RAW files (in a folder), then create a set (or collection) with a B&W preset, and then maybe create yet another set (or collection) with a sepia preset. So I want to end up with 3 sets (or collections) of the same pictures but all with different color tones. What would be your step by step process to do this? I have tried to create collections and then simply sync all the pictures in the collection to the preset I want but that does not seem to work for me.
I appreciate your input to those that truly know how to do this.

Create a virtual copy for each addition copy of the image you want to process. If you have already done some processing on the image and want something different, then do a reset on the image.
I would put all of the pictures that will have the same preset applied in the same collection. Select them all, use the switch on the Sync button to change to Auto Sync, and then apply the preset to the first image in the selection. It will be applied to all of the images in the selection. Deselect the images, and process individually as needed.
You can then move the files from the collection to another collection. The reason I advise putting them into a collection first is so that you don't accidentally select other images; they would be changed with the AutoSync.
I have a Working collection where I put images I want to process similarly, just for this purpose. I move them to other collections as needed, and remove them from the Working collection.

Are you saying Create a virtual copy for each addition copy in the original Folder or in a new Collection??
Command apostrophe will add a virtual copy. You can have as many virtual copies as you wish.

Put the virtual copy in a new collection for editing, then move it wherever you want.

Do you want these collections for just the current shoot, or will it be okay (as an example) to have all sepia photos from all your shoots in one collection?
If the latter, I'd recommend adding a keyword (i.e. sepia) to the photo then create a Smart collection. Makes it a bit more 'automatic'. Just a thought.
