As punishment for my advancing years and listening to too-loud rock concerts, my hearing - especially higher tones - has been affected. I can no longer hear the beeper that indicates focus . I have a Canon EOS 7d. That sound is often useful. Does anyone know if there's a way of increasing the volume? I can't find such a menu setting. Anyone else been affected that way?

Yeah, Thanks to Led Zeppelin and improper shooting habits as a kid, I have lost all high pitch hearing and have the constant "Crickets" going on. My camera has a beeper as well but I have never heard it.

The beep is always the first thing I turn off. I know it's in focus when the light turns green.

I saw it in the menu. Don't remember exactly where though.

Agree, the beep really isn't necessary from my point of view.

Unfortunately you cannot increase the volume. Many of us turn it off anyway and rely on the focus light in the viewfinder. In what ways do you find the beep useful?

Do you have an em1 camera...if so, it's in the super control menu system.

Cameras have a focus indicator beep? :)

All kidding aside, the beep on a Nikon only works when you are in AF-S mode, and since I am never in AF-S mode, I never hear a beep.

It's not punishment for enjoying music. It's aging. (Sorry) We all lose those high frequencies. There should be an indicator in the viewfinder that indicates focus. I don't like the camera beeping any more than it has to.

Sorry, I don't know if that is possible, I never thought if this as I always turned the beep off, as I find it annoying.
